Questions & Answers About Commercial Painting in Mammoth

How long should it take to paint 1 room?

It may take up to two to four days to paint an average-sized room. That’s how long it takes to prep, prime, and paint correctly. Not every job is the same but it is important to do things carefully and correctly to avoid having to redo inconsistencies.

How often should your exterior be painted?

Exteriors should be painted every 5 to 10 years, depending on the quality of paint and craftsmanship it was painted with last time. It also depends on the exterior surface. For example, wood surfaces need to be painted every 3 to 7 years while aluminum siding needs to be painted about every 5 years.

How long does it take interior painting to dry?

A primer usually takes 30 minutes to dry, while the first coat takes about an hour. It is always a good idea to wait at least two hours before applying a second coat however and giving the paint at least a whole day to dry before you clean it or use anything abrasive.

Our Multi-Step Painting Process

Over the years, we’ve repaired and painted thousands of Mammoth homes and commercial buildings. Here are the steps we take to ensure your painted surfaces will last for years to come!

Prepare the area for painting

We always begin by removing any furniture, paintings, or wall fixtures on the interior, or if the outside of the building is being painted we pressure wash to remove dirt, debris, and old paint.

Remove old paint

Next, any loose or flaking paint will be removed to ensure a consistent coat. On the exterior, we patch any cracked stucco and fill in cracks with caulking.

Setup ladders and scaffolding

We prepare scaffolding and ladders to reach high-up places. This can be hazardous for anyone except our crew to work on so we always work with you to ensure that you never have to set foot on any of them.

Protect non-painted surfaces

Whether it’s a ceiling fan, cabinet doors, or windows we completely cover them in plastic, paper, or tape to ensure no stray paint finds its way onto them.

Prepare the interior for painting

If necessary we degrease the surfaces using baking soda then rinse them off. Then we remove outlet covers, caulk cracks, fill nail holes and spot patch stucco textures.

Prepare the exterior for painting

If necessary we will trim back trees or bushes, remove sunscreens on the doors being painted as well as cover any doors or windows in plastic. We also spot prime exposed wood and stucco to ensure proper coverage and color.

Painting the interior and exterior

Using premium paint we apply consistent and multiple coats of acrylic paint on the exterior while the interior gets specific types for heavy traffic versus softer surfaces.

Clean up

After the paint has at least an hour to dry, we remove all of the plastic, paper, and tape as well as replace switch covers, furniture, and anything that was hung on the walls.

Final Walkthrough

We do a walkthrough with you to ensure complete satisfaction and fix anything that you find was not up to your standards. Additionally, we will leave the paint we used with you for future touchups.
